Composition

Stainless steel snap rings, spring bands, are made from stainless steel equivalent to Aisi301.

Strip supplies

The stainless steel strip is rolled to produce a mirror finish. The bright surface improves the resistance to corrosion.

Production

The strip is firstly machined to remove the sharp corners. This makes handling safer during sewing into the filter bags and protects the filter bag fabric from damage during operation.

The strip is then cut into ring lengths. The ring lengths are then fastened together using stainless steel eyelets/rivets. By using stainless steel eyelets the risk of electrolytic corrosion between the strip and the eyelets is eliminated. Spot welding can also be performed when required.

Ring dimensions

Rings can be supplied in any diameter size from a minimum of 95mm. Smaller rings can be supplied from some widths of stainless steel strip.

When thicker rings are required we can supply a laminated type of ring made from our standard strip sizes. This gives a stronger spring character but retains the additional flexibility provided by a thinner strip thickness.

Composition

Carbon steel, (which is sometimes referred to as “Blue” steel), snap rings, spring bands, are made from a high carbon steel. The high carbon steel used has been finished to a high quality spring specification.

Strip supplies

The carbon steel strip has a blue/black surface finish; we avoid using material that has a polished finish. Carbon steel with a blue/black surface finish offers an improved resistance to corrosion when compared to a polished surface finish. However carbon steel, even with a blue/black finish, should not be used or stored in an environment in which humidity is present.

Production

The carbon steel strip has a machined edge without sharp corners. This makes handling safer during sewing into the filter bags and protects the filter bag fabric from damage during operation.

The strip is then cut into ring lengths. The ring lengths are then fastened together using eyelets/rivets.

Ring dimensions

Rings can be supplied in any diameter size from a minimum of 100mm.

Width Thickness 25mm 0.40mm 30mm 0.40mm

On 19/01/10 SGS audited Salpark’s ISO9001 quality system and confirmed that it complies to the new requirements of the updated ISO9001:2008 quality standard.
